ILL NINO - Enigma

The band couldn't find a more fitting title for their fourth release. To put it simply, right from the first to the last second, Ill Nino never reveal what the listener should expect from their music. The band is playing what we call Nu Metal, fast and aggressive, with brutal vocals at times, but also has more slow moments, with clear vocals, and more melodies into their music. What makes this album so interesting, is that the band is singing in both English and Spanish, and, mostly, that they are using a lot of Latin rhythms. The last is what makes their songs so interesting, without losing on energy, or making songs sound as fillers. The music sounds so fresh, and so diverse, continuing the heritage of their previous albums, with the use of percussions and Flamenco guitars, but always aggressive and Heavy. It might be something close to what Sepultura did once, but this one is far more enriched, not only in the atmosphere, but also in the style of the songs. Not the typical Nu Metal album though, but an album we enjoyed quite much. If you are a fan of the band, or you like bands that like to explore new boundaries, then check them out.
10/10
