TED POLEY - Smile

If you close your eyes for a minute, while listening to this album, you get the feeling that a single day hasn't passed since the mid 80's music wave. Something that seems natural though, since here we have the second solo album of Ted Poley, singer of the famous Danger Danger band. An 80's feeling that starts from the cover, and moves to the attitude and the music inside. Melodic and pompous, sometimes exaggerating, sometimes reminding, but always bringing a big smile to the face of the fortunate ones who lived, or those who liked the 80's Metal creations. Catchy and melodic, with nice hooks and arrangements, parts to sing along and tap you feet with the rhythm, this album sounds like an old friend who suddenly came home for a visit. Of course, music that brings memories is nothing if is not accompanied with arrangements and good musicianship, but this is not the case here. Almost all the songs are of top quality, bearing not only the trademark of the singer, but also of the other distinguished members as well. A clear production comes to complete this chapter in the best possible way. This album oozes 80's, so much that it could easily be one of missing 80's jewels. A must have.
10/10
