To introduce a musician like Steve Lukather seems pointless, since almost anyone, even those not into Heavy Metal, are familiar with the name Toto, or even his session work for other bands and artists. This is his third solo album so far, an album that combines enough Toto elements, but goes far beyond that. It seems that the singer has put all his influences, and all the things he likes, into an album that exceeds the boundaries of Toto. This makes things even more interesting, with songs that vary from Melodic and classic AOR stuff, to harder forms, always with the superb vocals of Steve, somehow dominating the songs. The fresh elements here are an addition of his son, as the artist admits, although the parade of well known guest musicians is too long to mention. If I count out the annoying audio mark that was informing me that I was listening to the new Steve Lukather album, spoiling some of the fun, the album has no weak points at all. It's classic, it Toto but not only that, it's melodic, it rocks, and holds enough surprises for the cautious listener. A very good work, that will please every Melodic fan out there.
